In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to configure the PIR settings for your Camovue camera. Proper configuration ensures accurate motion detection and helps optimize the camera’s performance. The PIR settings consist of four key components, each explained in detail below to help you configure them effectively:
1. PIR Enable/Disable
Turning on the PIR sensor is essential for motion detection. Without enabling it, the camera won’t trigger alarms like recording or push notifications.
How to Enable/Disable:
- Open the Camovue App.
- Navigate to Camera Settings > PIR Settings, then toggle the PIR Detection switch to On or Off.
2. Sensitivity
The PIR sensor offers three sensitivity levels: High, Medium, and Low.
- High: Detects smaller or more distant movements; ideal for monitoring critical areas.
- Medium: Provides a balanced detection range while reducing false alerts.
- Low: Best for environments with frequent background movement to minimize unwanted triggers.
How to Configure:
- Navigate to Camera Settings > PIR Settings > Sensitivity, choose Low/Medium/High.
3. Trigger Interval
This setting allows you to define a time gap between motion detections to avoid redundant alarms.
Example Scenario:
If an object frequently moves near the camera, it may trigger multiple alarms in a period, leading to faster battery drain. Setting a trigger interval ensures no additional alarms are generated during this cooldown period, even if recording or image capture features are enabled.
How to Configure:
- Navigate to Camera Settings > PIR Settings > Trigger Interval, and select the desired PIR trigger interval.
4. Schedule
The schedule feature lets you define specific time periods during which the PIR sensor will be active.
How to Configure:
- Use the Enable (paintbrush)/Disable (eraser) in the bottom to select the desired time blocks.
- Each grid represents one hour.
- For extended periods, simply tap and drag across multiple grid blocks to set the schedule efficiently.
- Tap "Detection Type" to select the type of motion you want to detect. "Others" refers to objects other than people, vehicles, and animals.
Example Scenario:
In the screenshots below, the camera is set to detect people, vehicles, and animals 24/7. If motion capture or push notifications are enabled, the camera will capture snapshots, record videos, or send notifications when these objects are detected. To detect only animals, select "Animal" and uncheck all other options.
By following these steps, you can fine-tune the PIR settings to match your specific needs, ensuring your Camovue camera provides reliable alerts and captures the movements you’re monitoring effectively.
