A stable network connection is essential for your Camovue camera to function properly. If you encounter issues related to data call failed, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem efficiently.
Symptoms of Camovue Cameras Data Call Failed
When initially setting up the camera, powering it on, or resetting it, you hear the voice prompt: "Data call failed. Please confirm your cellular data plan is available." This indicates that the SIM card has no available data or the APN settings are incorrect.
Troubleshooting Steps for Fixing Camovue Cameras Data Call Failed Issue
Step 1: Verify that the SIM card's data plan is active.
For Camovue SIM cards, ensure that you have subscribed to the Camovue Cloud plan and that your data plan is still valid.
For other SIM cards, check with your carrier to confirm that the data plan is active and has sufficient data available.
Step 2: Import the correct APN settings to the camera. (Applies to a third-party SIM card)
If you're using a third-party SIM card and have confirmed that the data plan is active but still receive the voice prompt, try manually importing the APN settings.
-
Prepare a 16GB or 32GB microSD card (formatted to FAT32).
-
On a computer, create a text file named my_custom_apn (do not rename it).
-
Enter the following details in the file:
apn=
username=
password=eg:apn=1234455
username=admin
password=123(Contact your carrier for the correct APN, username, and password.)
-
Save the file and place it in the root directory of the microSD card.
-
Switch off the camera, insert the microSD card, and turn it back on.
-
Wait 20 seconds, then press the TEST button for 5s to reset the camera.
-
Once reset, the camera will automatically apply the new APN settings. Then you will hear"APN setting has been imported successfully. Network connection succeeded" voice if import the APN is successful.
