The Camovue App comes with an integrated map feature, providing an easy way to locate your cameras. This is especially useful for users managing multiple cameras or tracking wildlife in different areas. In this guide, we will walk you through how to use the map feature and make markers to enhance your experience.
This guide is divided into two main sections to help you easily navigate and find the information you need:
1. Getting Started with the Map Feature
1. Getting Started with the Map Feature
To access the map, simply tap on the Map section at the bottom of the Camovue App. This will show you all the cameras linked to your account and their locations. You will also be able to see the location of the device you're currently using to access the App (such as your smartphone or tablet).
Viewing Camera Location Information
When you tap on a camera's icon, you’ll be shown its name and current weather information for its location. If you want to visit the camera's location, click on Navigate to get directions directly to the camera's spot.
You can also tap on the Location section on the Device page under the camera's name to check the exact map location and associated weather information of this camera.
If you see a message that says "Device's location info can only be accessed late." it means the camera hasn't acquired GPS data yet, and you'll need to wait or try again later.
Note: If the camera is indoors, it won’t be able to get an accurate GPS fix, so it’s best to place the camera outdoors for proper location tracking.
Quick Access to Your Current Location
If you want to quickly return to your current location (the device's position, such as your smartphone or tablet), tap the navigation icon in the bottom right corner of the map. This will instantly bring you back to the current location of the device you’re using to access the Camovue App.
2. Markers on the Camovue App
The marker feature allows you to mark specific spots on the map for easy reference. This allows you to keep track of specific areas of interest, like animal sightings. This is especially helpful for tracking wildlife locations or if you frequently move your cameras.
Adding a Marker
Long-press any location on the map where you'd like to add a marker. Then you can choose from various icons for your marker and give it a name to make it easily identifiable.
Viewing Marker Information
Once a marker is added, tap the icon on the map to get more details about that location, including weather information. You can also tap Navigate to get directions to the marker's location.
Editing or Deleting Markers
To delete a marker, simply click the trash bin icon. If you want to edit a marker, tap Edit to rename it or change the icon.
Managing All Markers
Tap the three horizontal lines icon at the bottom left of the Map page, you can view all the markers you've created across your Camovue account. From here, you can select individual markers to view more information or make changes.
Using the map and marker features on the Camovue App offers great flexibility in managing your cameras and tracking wildlife locations. These tools can help you create a personalized wildlife distribution map.
